How to identify the best partners for the next Big Data calls in H2020 2017 WP

Visit HolaPortal.com!

Let’s aim for an ambitious goal. We want to help you identify 3 key partners from academia and 3 from the industry who have been very successful at attracting funding in Europe.

And we’ll do it in 3 clicks…

Click 1: Search for the topic of interest. For example: Big data economy

EC call addressing it: ICT-16

http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/desktop/en/opportunities/h2020/topics/ict-16-2017.html

Deadline: 25 April 2017

Funding: 33M in RIAs of  2-5M (estimate of 8-15 RIAs to be funded)

Click 2: Click on grants to look (only) at this data.

Go to map to filter to European Region (optional)

Rank by number of grants by clicking in the table in ‘GRA’(optional)

Click 3: Enter any of the profiles of the ‘big data relevant players’ and enjoy your analysis :)

You will get detailed information of all H2020 (and some national) grants achieved by these players, with abstracts and useful web access.

In case it is an interesting partner for you, you will be able to find their contact details from HOLA Portal. For example: Fraunhofer, London Center For Mathematical Science Lbg are top performers with 3 grants. Sigma Orionis, Josef Stefan Institute and Scuola IMT Instituzioni with 2 EU grants, and some UK entities such as Univ. Warwick, Oxford and others, also with 2 grants from the UK national program.

Looking at a perhaps surprising entity with 2 very relevant grants: Deutsches Forschungszentrum Fuer Kuenstliche Intelligenz–> not so surprising, it’s the ‘German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence’.

Looking at their profile in HOLA they have attracted almost 1M€ in EC funding in this niche topic:

  1. Atos Spain is the coordinator of one of this projects, funded in 2012 in FP7 (http://cordis.europa.eu/project/rcn/105709_en.html).
  2. And the other one is a H2020 awarded grant, just in the ICT-16 we were interested in! https://www.holaportal.com/affiliation/deutsches-forschungszentrum-fuer-kuenstliche-intelligenz-gmbh-117676/all/?query=big%20data%20economy

2 interesting EXTRA CLICKS:

  • You would like to know how active these players keep since H2020 started, in 2014 -> Filter the time range on the top-bar

  • Once you have found some interesting profile, you would like some insights on who this player collaborates with . By clicking the « Social Graph » option you can get figures like the following:
